Project Who 50: #191 An Ood
Another in my character portraits leading up to the 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who, from the tenth Doctor story "Planet Of The Ood".
I don't really despise any Doctor Who story, no matter what I may have said elsewhere. There's just some I don't enjoy as much as others (and I say despise in Doctor Who terms, which means, I probably only liked one element of it). Planet of the Ood is down there with my least favourites, mainly again because of the Doctor's actions which seem very odd to me.
However, it must just be me, I suppose....

I went watching some old Star Trek TOS episodes yesterday and you know what? It has stronger sexist connotations than classic Who did! There ya go. Plus I finished the whole series of 3rd Rock, man was I so sad when it ended.
And I finished The Infinity Doctors, which was great! I wish I hadn't read it in such fragmented intervals, but the ending was so happy. I'm a sap for a happy ending. Especially with the Sontarans and Rutans getting together I love the scene where they intially travel forward into the gray universe and the book talks about their individual thoughts. For some reason, at the end of the book I couldn't help but picture the Fatal Death Doctor- not sure if it was Grant or the other one. And do we never know the name of the Doctor's past love?
And then Planet of the Ood- when that guy got pushed into the Ood brain all I was worried about was the damage the brain might've suffered. I mean, what do you think happened there? It also reminded me of that story with the Rani. You know, I've always liked the design of the Ood. And the happy ending here. What was odd about the Doctor's actions in this story though?
